THT-The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Abdirizaq Khalif Ahmed said that the dispute in the House of Representatives is over.
Speaking to the media in his office over week following trading of blows by some MPs, Hon. Abdirizak apologized for fracas of push and shove between police and lawmakers which resulted in pushing and shoving that saw postponement of house business matters.
Hon. Abdirizak termed the confrontation among lawmakers as a matter of differences of opinion “which is the nature of the legislative assemblies”.
“It is not an issue of polarization along party lines but differences in opinions which are an occupational hazard of parliamentarians but legislative procedures will be on and all disagreement will be settled among lawmakers”, the Speaker said.
Lawmakers are expected to meet today, so that a committee mediating the dispute between the two sides of the legislature proposes a solution.
