THT-Former Party Chairman and WADDANI Presidential Candidate Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro officially handed over the Chairmanship of the party over the week to the newly elected Chairman Hirsi Ali X Hassan.
At the handover ceremony held at the party headquarters, the former chairman hoped his tasks ahead would now be easened.
The change at the conclusion of the second conference of the WADDANI party came whereupon 1,300 delegates from the diaspora and the regions of Somaliland attending elected the new leadership of the party as the founding chairman tendered his resignation.
The delegates who attended the WADDANI party conference first approved through voting amendments of party rules and regulations and additions made to their by-laws and the resolutions of the WADDANI Central Committee meeting, whereby Hon. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro and Hon. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi were chosen President and Vice-president candidates of the party.
Delegation of the 2nd congress of the WADDANI party overwhelmingly elected Hon. Hirsi Haji Ali Hassan as the Chairman of the WADDANI party by a majority vote of 1,225 delegates and thus became the Chairman of the WADDANI Party for the next five years.
Six Vice-Chairmen of the WADDANI Party for the next five years were voted one by one namely, Miss. Milgo Mohamed Elmi Sanbaloshe, Abibakar Abdirahman Good, Ahmed Omar Haji. Abdillahi (Hamarji), Saleban Duale Jama, Hussein Abdi Boos and Mohamed Haji Yusuf Wabeye.
Mr. Khadar Hussein Abdi was re-elected as the General Secretary of the WADDANI Party for the next five years, while Jamal Jama Hamud has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the WADDANI Party for the next five years.
Osman Ibrahim Nur Afgaab was elected as the Chairman of the Central Committee for the next five years, while Idris Abdi Mohamed was also elected as the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee for the next five years. Secretary of the Central Committee of the party elected Daud Mohamed Warfaa
The second congress of the WADDANI party also elected Hassan Hussein Codyare as the auditor of the party for the next five years, while Ahmed Aw Dahir Haji Hassan was elected as the deputy auditor and Mubarik Abdi Hassan Buni elected as the new Secretary of the auditing team.
