Police arrest Sultan Suleiman in MP Guruje assault case

THT-Somaliland police have at last arrested Suleiman Osman who has been on the run in recent days in alleged assault and battery incident against parliamentarian and lawyer Ahmed Yusuf Guruje. He is said to have been nabbed afternoon yesterday, Saturday 2 October 2021.

According to reliable sources tip to the THT traditional leader Suleiman, who is alleged to have caused head injuries in the past week for clobbering the Member of Parliament, has at last been arrested.

The police chief Brigadier General Mohamed Aden Saqadi had reportedly ordered for his arrest, before traveling with a delegation of ministers led by the interior minister who  went to Sool region, the capital of Las Anod.

On Sept. 29, sultan Suleiman is said to have hit the MP on the head with a traditional club causing harmful injuries to Hon. Guruuje, a move widely condemned by the Somaliland public as well as the House of Representatives and their speaker, calling for the government bring him expressly to justice.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon Abdirizak Khalif who visited MP Guruje in his home called on the security agencies to bring Sultan Saleban to justice.
