THT-The Minister of Finance Dr. Saad Ali Shire commended all the staff of IFMIS, and said that IT is the brainchild of the ministry, and that all needed to work hard to achieve the national development goals.
An event organized by the Ministry showcased its achievements in the Automated Financial Information Management (IFMIS) system for 2020.
Speaking at the event, IFMIS director Amin Abshir Ahmed explained the importance of the system and how it works.
“Today throughout the country from Zeila to Lasqoray all expenses and revenues go through IFMIS, we can thus monitor the revenue and expenditure transactions”, he said.
Director General Mohamed Abdi Gurhan stated that the ministry has decided to roll out the system to local governments and independent agencies staring 2021. “We are guided by our mission and vision goals”, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of Accounts Ahmed Da’ud praised the job done by the IFMIS staff adding that, “but the migration is not over yet”.
Deputy Minister of Finance Muse Ibrahim stated that the good governance system is based on IFMIS, which is used by the entire country. It’s a hard work, and people who used to do it by manually can feel it, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister Dr Saad said that evaluating good governance is part of remembering those who work hard, but they couldn’t achieved, without getting assistance.
“I commend the whole department. The IT department is the brain of the ministry. We all need to work hard to achieve our national development goal”, said the minister.
