Veteran politician who is a long serving parliamentarian Hon. Mohammed Farah Qabille has strongly stood against the leasing of Berbera airport as a military base for the U.A.E.

In a vehement tongue-lashing to his legislature colleagues, Wadani party member Hon. Qabile warned, “If the parliamentarians take bribes to lease the base it will be an act of breaking the skeletal backbone (of the nation)”.

The MP was giving his sentiment to the media in a press conference he held yesterday, Saturday the 11th of February 2017.

He said, “When the foreign minister and his team returned from Ethiopia yesterday (Friday) he said that there was totally no any agreement that the government have reached with the U.A.E. therefore it is a wonder why both Houses of the Bicameral Parliament should meet”.

The MP was referring to the Sunday (today) meeting called for of both the lower Houses of Representatives and the Upper House of the Guurti.
