The national level sports tournaments 2016 organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth ended today with prize distribution ceremony.
The national level sports tournaments which was opened by H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo fifteen days concluded on Saturday with a soccer game pitting the two finalists Awdal and Sahil regions.
The Awdal side scooped the national football tournament cup after they beat 2-1 goal their rival Sahil side in a tightly contested match at the Hargeisa national stadium.
Eight teams representing eight regions from across the country took part in the national football tournament.
In the national basketball tournament Sahil boys team won Gold whereas Gabiley boys team took Silver medal during a match which took place at the Tima Ade Basketball grounds on Friday night.
Similarly, Eight basketball teams representing eight regions from across the country took part in the national basketball tournament.
