Somaliland president Ahmed Silanyo on Wednesday joined the prayers with Hargeisa community at Grand Mosque which lies at the heart of the capital where thousands congregate in prayer for peace and reconciliation on Eid’l Fitr or the feast concluding the holy month of Ramadhan.
In a statement obtained by hornrribune, religious affairs minister led the prayers which saw the attendance of members of ministers and house of parliament.
The president sent a cable of congratulation on the spacious occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr prayers which marks the end of holy month of Ramadan where Muslims across the world refrain eating from dawn to dusk.
Mr. Ahmed Silanyo, Somaliland president on behalf of the nation hoped for peace and prosperity in this year.
The vice president, Abdirahman Saylici has also joined thousands of prayers who congregated at a mosque in Bada Cas village.
Residents have flocked to the presidential palace to shake hands with gov’t senior officials who came to the presidential residence in the capital.
