Prayers for rain were involved countrywide at all major mosques during the Friday prayers.
Following a notice to all Imams through electronic media over the week, the minister of Religion and Endowment asked the clergy to include in their Friday Khudba itineraries special prayers for rain.
Islamic tradition prescribes special prayers for rain which has perennially been held especially in arid and semi-arid areas whereby practicing Muslims come out on a specially stated day hence hold the prayers for rain an open grounds.
Rainfall was witnessed across the country a fortnight ago, albeit for one or two days, only.
