The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland has stepped up efforts to modernize domestic revenue administration by training management and officials from 20 notary offices in Hargeisa on the use of its online notary system.

The training was organized by the Ministry’s Domestic Tax Department in collaboration with the IT and IFMIS Department, with a focus on the digital processing and registration of revenue generated from property sales and transfers.

Officials said the training is part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to accelerate and strengthen the implementation of the online notary system, which is intended to modernize the registration and management of government revenue.

The digital platform is designed to improve the efficiency and accountability of domestic revenue collection by streamlining procedures for recording and managing revenue generated through property transactions.

The Ministry said it will continue providing capacity-building and public awareness programs on modern digital systems as part of efforts to expand digital government services and strengthen the management of state revenue.

The initiative reflects the government’s wider push to use technology to improve public-sector administration, enhance accountability and make domestic revenue collection more efficient.
