The President of the Republic H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud Silanyo who jetted out to neighboring Djibouti for a three day official state visit was accorded the deserved full Presidential high profile reception by the host country.

The President was received upon arrival at Djibouti Airport by the country’s Premier Abdirizak Kamil Mohammed and his foreign minister Mohammed Ali Yusuf amongst other Djibouti cabinet ministers, top government officials and senior security commanders.

Upon inspecting a gua-ridée mounted on his honour by the Djibouti security forces, H.E. Ahmed Silanyo and his entourage were whisked by Presidential motorcade to his residence for the next three days at Camp Bisque lodge (Kam Biiski)

His host President Ismael Omar Guelle then visited him at the hotel whereby they had a luncheon and thereafter met behind closed doors.

However reports from our own reporter who travelled with the President’s entourage, Dawan Chief Editor Omar Mohammed Farah, say that the in-camera tête-à-tête of both presidents also focused on the pepping up of bilateral relations amongst other issues.

The Head of State is expected to meet his Somalia counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in the summit that has been convened and hosted by Djibouti.

Issues to be high in their itinerary are expected to be the pending Somaliland/ Somalia factors that are being addressed, albeit haltingly, through the ongoing Turkey sponsored talks.

Our source has it that the technical committees from both countries have already embarked on tasks scheduled to be delved into.

The President who was accompanied by the First Lady Amina Sheikh Mohammed Jirde had amongst others in his entourage the Presidency Minister Hon. Hersi Ali Hassan those of the Foreign Affairs, Livestock Development and Agriculture, the honourable Mohammed Bihi Yonis, Dr. Abdi Aw Dahir and Mohamed Farah Geedoole respectively.

Also accompanying them were both first deputies of the National Assemblies Parliament Hon. Said (Guurti) and Hon. Bashe M. Farah (House of Representatives).
