A delegation led by Hargeisa Mayor Eng. Abdirizak Mohamed has arrived in the Netherlands to participate in an international summit focused on urban development and water resource management.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for Hargeisa’s municipal leadership to exchange expertise, explore development opportunities and strengthen international cooperation in areas critical to the capital’s sustainable growth.
Speaking upon the visit, Mayor Abdirizak Mohamed said the delegation would hold meetings with various leaders and officials during its stay, with the aim of establishing partnerships that could support the city’s development priorities.
“During our stay in the Netherlands, we will hold meetings with various leaders and officials whose cooperation is essential for strengthening ties, exchanging expertise, and establishing partnerships that drive sustainable development for the benefit of the residents of Hargeisa Capital,” the mayor said.
The summit’s focus on urban development and water resource management comes as cities face growing demands for improved infrastructure, efficient public services and sustainable water supplies.
For Hargeisa, international cooperation and the exchange of practical experience could offer opportunities to strengthen municipal planning, improve water management and support long-term development.
The delegation’s visit underscores the Hargeisa administration’s efforts to build international partnerships and explore approaches that can contribute to a more sustainable and resilient capital.
