The Commander of the Somaliland National Army, Brigadier General Nimaan Yusuf Gaaxnuug, received the athletes of the National Army’s Gaashaan Team today at his office in the General Command Headquarters, following their success at the Hargeisa International Half Marathon, competing in the men’s 21KM and women’s 5KM events.
The Commander congratulated the athletes on their performance, offering special commendation to runner Fuaad Said and the female athlete who both claimed 1st place at the men’s and women’s races. He also praised the other male team members who secured 3rd, 4th, and 5th places, as well as the female athlete who ranked second.
Furthermore, the Commander pledged continued investment and development in military sports across various departments and disciplines to build athletic capacity and secure future competitive achievements.
