The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Somaliland have signed a cooperation procedure aimed at strengthening the online collection and management of revenue generated from notarial services.
The agreement was reached during a bilateral meeting chaired by the Director General of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Mohamed Hassan Saleeban, and the Director General of the Ministry of Justice, Mahmoud Abdirahman Abdi, at the Finance Ministry’s headquarters.
The meeting focused on accelerating the use of an online system for collecting and managing revenue from notarial services, as part of efforts to improve efficiency, accountability and simplify revenue-related procedures.
The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen institutional cooperation and further develop the digital system used to manage notaries’ revenue, particularly transactions involving the transfer of movable and immovable property.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two ministries signed a Cooperation Procedure setting out how the online system for collecting notaries’ revenue will be managed and implemented.
The procedure is intended to strengthen coordination between the two ministries, improve the efficiency and transparency of revenue collection, and modernize services related to property transfers.
The move forms part of broader efforts to expand digital systems in government services and improve the management of public revenues.
