A high-level delegation led by Somaliland President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro reportedly reached in the United States today for an official visit which is expected to place Somaliland’s diplomatic ambitions and its growing relationship with Washington firmly in the spotlight.
The Head of State who is being accompanied by the First Lady, has his delegation reportedly composed of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Prof. Yasin Haji Mohamoud Hiir (Faratoon), the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Abdirahman Adan Bakaal, Minister of the Presidency Hon. Affairs Khadar, Minister of Civil Aviation Hon. Fu’ad, Minister of Defense Hon. Mohamed Yusuf, Senior Adviser on Foreign Policy Prof. Fadal, Senior Adviser on Economic Affairs Dr. Beyle, Senior Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Jama Gabuush; and the Presidency Chief of Staff, Abdikadir Eid.
The duration of the visit has not yet been officially announced. However, the delegation is expected to engage in a series of high-level meetings with officials across the U.S. government, including members of the legislative and executive branches.
