Republic of Somaliland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Abdirahman Dahir Adan, has arrived in Washington, D.C., for a series of high-level meetings with U.S. government officials and leading American institutions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding strategic cooperation.
The visit is expected to focus on advancing shared interests, enhancing diplomatic engagement, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual importance, reflecting Somaliland’s continued efforts to deepen its partnership with the United States.
Speaking upon his arrival in the U.S. capital, Foreign Minister Abdirahman Dahir Adan highlighted the significance of the visit and reaffirmed Somaliland’s commitment to stronger ties with Washington.
“I was pleased to be in Washington, D.C., to further strengthen the relationship between the United States and the Republic of Somaliland. I looked forward to engaging with partners in support of shared interests, mutual respect, and a stronger future for both our nations,” the minister said.
The Washington visit comes as Somaliland continues to expand its international engagement, seeking closer cooperation with key global partners on diplomacy, security, economic development, investment, and regional stability. The meetings are expected to reinforce dialogue between Somaliland and the United States and identify new avenues for future collaboration.
