The Minister of Health Development, Hon. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, received on Thursday a high-level delegation from Israel at the Ministry’s headquarters to discuss expanding cooperation in the health sector.
The Minister was joined by the Ministry’s Directors of Planning and Policy Development, Public Health, and the Head of Regional Coordination.
In-depth discussions on strengthening healthcare cooperation, improving Somaliland’s health services, and expanding partnerships aimed at enhancing the country’s healthcare system was held by both sides.
The Minister warmly welcomed the delegation to Somaliland and reaffirmed his Ministry’s commitment to implementing practical joint initiatives that will improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services.
The Israeli delegation expressed its appreciation for the visit, stating its readiness to build a productive partnership that will contribute to the development and modernization of Somaliland’s healthcare sector.
The delegation then toured Hargeisa General Hospital, Mohamed Adan Sheikh (MAS) Children’s Hospital, and Gargaar Hospital, where they observed the medical services being provided, visited key departments, and assessed areas that could benefit from future cooperation and support to strengthen healthcare delivery across Somaliland.
