The Minister of Education and Science Hon. Ismail Duale Yusuf, met with a delegation from Save the Children Australia and the leadership of Save the Children Somaliland. He was accompanied by the Ministry’s Director of Planning, Amin Mohamed Ahmed, and the Minister’s Adviser, Mohamed Jama Yusuf.
The meeting focused on progress made under the Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI), a global programme being implemented in 35 countries including Somaliland, to strengthen education systems against the impacts of climate change.
The minister stressed the importance of building a more resilient education system to reduce the effects of climate change, particularly the challenges posed by recurring droughts and other factors that disrupt access to education. He also praised the strong partnership between the Ministry of Education and the project’s development partners in advancing climate-smart education.
