Hargeisa – The Executive Committee of the WADDANI Party convened last evening at the WADDANI Party headquarters, with the majority of the Executive Committee members and the party’s top leadership in attendance.
The meeting, chaired by the WADDANI Party Chairman, Mr. Hirsi Ali H. Hassan, focused on reviewing the general situation in the country and the state of the party, as well as the arrangements for the upcoming Central Committee conference, which is scheduled to take place in Hargeisa on the 30th of this month. During the session, the party’s Political Ideology document was also presented and thoroughly discussed.
First and foremost, the Chairman of the WADDANI Party, Mr. Hirsi Ali H. Hassan, briefed the committee on the overall national situation, touching upon the historic and successful visit recently undertaken by the President of the Republic of Somaliland upon his return from Israel. Furthermore, the Chairman provided the Committee with a report on the party’s current status and the progress of the restructuring and revitalization plans.
For his part, the Chairman of the party’s Central Committee, Mr. Osman Ibrahim Nur (Afgaab), also gave a report to the Executive Committee on the status of the preparations for the Central Committee conference, which is expected to take place this coming Tuesday at Hotel Maansoor. He indicated that the preparatory activities are proceeding smoothly, that most Central Committee members have already received their documents, and that the readiness is nearing completion.
In another segment of his address, the WADDANI Party Chairman, Mr. Hirsi Ali H. Hassan, provided the Executive Committee members with an in-depth elaboration on the Political Ideology document and the substance of long-standing efforts. The outcomes of these efforts were previously shared with the party’s base at a public forum featuring an academic discussion held at Casood Hotel—making WADDANI the first party in the country to publicly present a political vision and ideology. At that forum, public feedback was collected, and the participants’ views were incorporated into the party’s platform.
Following extensive debate and analysis among the Executive Committee members, the party’s Political Ideology—which will serve as its hallmark and guiding compass—was put to a vote. The Executive Committee members approved it by an overwhelming majority, and it will now be forwarded to the Central Committee, where it will be presented to the members for further endorsement.
