President of the Republic of Somaliland Officially Opens the 10th National Judicial Conference

Hargeisa – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), today officially opened the 10th National Judicial Conference of the Republic of Somaliland at the Maan-soor Hotel, stating that it is both an honor and a duty for him as President to participate in the Judicial Conference.

The National Judicial Conference was attended by the leadership of the Judicial Bodies of the Republic of Somaliland, the Judicial Commission, the National Houses (Parliament), Government Institutions, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, international organizations, and other officials concerned with the development of the country’s judicial system.

In a significant address delivered at the Conference, the President affirmed that the judiciary and justice are the most fundamental pillars for upholding the rule of law, the rights of citizens, and the very existence of statehood.

The President noted that public confidence in the Judicial Bodies is the foundation for peace, stability, social harmony, international engagement, and national development.

The President specifically emphasized that the Government of Somaliland fully supports and respects the independence and collaboration among the three branches of government that constitute the statehood of the Republic of Somaliland. He declared that his administration is committed to building a judicial system and a justice framework that is stable, transparent, independent, impartial, and founded on fairness and equality, so that every citizen may receive justice without prejudice.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland stated that the Government is ready to address the challenges and needs facing the judiciary and the justice sector.

Finally, the President called upon the judicial bodies and the Judicial Commission to further strengthen their adherence to judicial independence, the application of the law, and the dignity of the judiciary. He described this Conference as an important opportunity to analyze and review existing challenges and to establish national strategies for enhancing the quality and efficiency of the judicial and justice system of the Republic of Somaliland.
