The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Abdillahi Jama Osman, alongside senior ministry officials, took part in a high-level consultative conference on seasonal climate forecasting and the impacts of climate change across the Horn of Africa. The event was held in Jigjiga, within Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State.
During the conference, the Minister delivered a wide-ranging speech highlighting the importance of regional collaboration in tackling climate challenges. He emphasized strengthening cooperation between Somaliland and Ethiopia, with particular focus on joint efforts in the Somali Region.
The gathering brought together representatives from Ethiopia’s federal government, key leaders from the Somali Regional State, and delegates from Kenya and Djibouti, underscoring a shared commitment to addressing climate-related risks in the region.
