Brigadier General Nimcaan Yuusuf Gaaxnuug, Chief of the Somaliland National Army, has delivered a strong message during his ongoing tour of the western regions of Awdal and Selel: the army will confiscate any weapons found in illegal hands as part of intensified efforts to restore peace between two feuding brotherly clans.
While inspecting military bases and meeting with regional leaders in Lawyo Cado — including the Selel Governor, Saylac Mayor, and local security committee — the army chief reviewed troop readiness and security conditions on the ground. He emphasized that no illegal arms will be tolerated and urged full compliance with government directives to strengthen stability in the area.
The army chief also praised the local population for their cooperation with national forces in the peace process.
