President Abdirahman Irro commends vital role elders play in instilling social cohesion

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro and prominent national personalities expressed the need for harmonious unity and solidarity to take precedence in the nation.

The conviction was reiterated and defined as the President met with prominent traditional leaders and elders, intellectuals, and leading figures of the capital at Hotel Grand Haadi in Hargeisa to mark the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

The meeting, which was held in a warm and harmonious atmosphere, focused on strengthening social cohesion, national unity, and collective understanding among the people of Somaliland.

The Head of State commended the elders and community leaders for their vital role in maintaining peace, building the nation, promoting coexistence, and guiding society toward positive values. In response, the participants expressed their appreciation for the meeting and praised the government’s efforts in advancing national development and ensuring stability.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening unity, peace, and the overall reputation of the Republic of Somaliland.

The gathering conveyed a strong national message centered on unity and solidarity which are key pillars for safeguarding the country’s stability and progress.

In a related event following the Eid prayers, the President hosted an exclusive breakfast meeting with top national leaders comprising of the Vice President, the Speaker of the House of Elders, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Chief Justice, and the Mayor of Hargeisa, reflecting institutional cooperation at the highest levels of government.
