The Governor of Togdeer Region, Mr. Mohamoud Ali Suleiman a.k.a. Ramaah, oversaw the distribution of Eid clothing donated by the Somaliland Presidency to children at rehabilitation centers and vulnerable communities in Burao.
The Governor stated that the donation was provided by the Presidency to ensure that disadvantaged children can celebrate Eid festivities alongside the wider Muslim community.
Mr. Mubarik Yuusuf Cilmi Bidi, head of the rehabilitation center, expressed gratitude to the Presidency and regional authorities for the donation, noting that it brought joy to the children and underprivileged individuals under their care.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Governor Mohamoud Ramaah emphasized that supporting vulnerable groups, especially during Eid, is both a governmental and societal responsibility. He also encouraged the public to assist one another, particularly in adherence to religious Zakat al-Fitr tenets as concerns alms.
The initiative was widely welcomed as a meaningful step toward social support and inclusion during the festive season.
