A high-level government delegation from the Republic of Somaliland held important consultations with traditional elders and community leaders in eastern Sanaag region on advancing peace, security, and development.
The delegation included Minister of Investment and Industry Said Sheikh Mohamed Buraale, Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources Ali Jama Bured, and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Jamal Jama Hamud.
Discussions centered on strengthening social cohesion, consolidating peace and security, and accelerating development initiatives in Erigavo and across the Sanaag region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both the ministers and the elders agreed to form a small joint committee responsible for coordinating efforts to develop the city of Erigavo and reinforce stability in the area.
The gathering underscores the Somaliland government’s continued engagement with traditional leadership to address local priorities and promote inclusive progress in one of the country’s key northern regions.
