In a powerful display of unity and community spirit amid the holy month of Ramadan, Dahabshiil Group organized the largest-ever communal iftar in Hargeisa, Somaliland, while simultaneously holding a major iftar event in Jigjiga, Ethiopia.
The Hargeisa gathering, described as the city’s biggest to date, brought together diverse segments of society under the inspiring theme “United in Heart, Beyond Division” (Somali: “Aan Midayno Quluubtoo, Iska Dayno Qabyaalad”). The event highlighted Dahabshiil’s ongoing commitment to promoting social cohesion, civic responsibility, inclusive growth, and the values of brotherhood and mutual support.
Hargeisa Mayor Abdikarim Ahmed Mooge joined Dahabshiil officials in addressing attendees, urging the public to extend help and solidarity to one another—not just during Ramadan but throughout the year—as a foundation for building resilient and united communities.
A parallel iftar in Jigjiga echoed the same powerful message, uniting various groups within the city and reinforcing themes of togetherness, cooperation, and the enduring importance of ‘walaaltinimo’ (brotherhood) as pillars of societal progress.
These concurrent events underscore Dahabshiil Group’s strategic role as a bridge-builder in the Horn of Africa, fostering cross-border harmony and shared prosperity at a time when unity is especially meaningful.
The initiatives drew widespread appreciation for emphasizing generosity, reflection, and collective strength during this sacred month.
