The President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro has named a national committee charged with the task of delving into and inquiring the causes of the Borame chaos whose resultant skirmishes resulted in fatalities and numerous casualties.
The task force has been mandated with the inquiry to both investigate the issue, evaluate the aftermath extent of the damages and associated resultant casualties. It has also been given powers to be able to form sub-committees at all cadres of administrative representation, be they at regional or district levels.

A press release from the Presidential spokesman on the formation of this committee mentioned the two former vice presidents, their Excellencies Abdirahman Sayli’i and Abdirahman Aw-Ali to be members as superseding consultants of the of the task force.
The main bone of contention was initially a section of the brotherly communities of the region to vehemently reject presentation of the ‘Xeer Ciise’ book (Isse Customary Tenets), an issue that went out of hand and became violent.
