The Head of State H.E. President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro made major changes in the regional administration department in a reshuffle that saw six regions affected.
Four of the regional governors were replaced while two were transferred to new stations.
While citing Article 90 of the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland, and taking into account the qualifications, experience, and competence of the nominees, along with consultations and the importance of the positions to public service, the President issued the following directives on the changes, effective immediately.
The changes are as follows: –
- Abdirashid Hassan Mataan
Appointed Regional Governor of Awdal Region.
- Abdiqani Mohamoud Ateeye (Fariid)
Appointed Governor of Sahil Region.
- Mohamoud Raage Ibrahim Guleed
Appointed Governor of Sanaag Region.
- Abdirahman Mohamed Abdi (Herer)
Appointed Governor of Daadmadeed Region.
- Abdi Saeed Faahiye Allaale
Former Governor of Salal Region appointed as Member of the Somaliland Higher Education Committee.
- Professor Axmed Abdillaahi Mohamed (Degayare)
Former Governor of Saraar Region appointed as Governor of Salal Region.
- Abdirahim Mohamed Ahmed.
Former Governor of Daadmadeed Region appointed as Governor of Saraar Region.
