The President of Somaliland H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro received on Monday the British Ambassador, H.E. Charles King and a high-level delegation at the Presidential Palace.

The mission arrived on an official visit aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The Head of State welcomed the delegation warmly and thanked the United Kingdom for its historical ties, long standing cooperation, and support for Somaliland—particularly in security and economic infrastructure development.

He emphasized the strategic partnership between Somaliland and the UK, underscoring the shared confidence, mutual respect, and productive collaboration that characterizes the bilateral relationship.

Ambassador King reaffirmed the UK’s appreciation for its long-standing relationship with Somaliland, praising the country’s stability, democratic practices, peaceful elections, and efforts to stabilize the eastern regions, especially the peace initiative in Erigavo.

He also highlighted the need to encourage private-sector investment as a key driver of economic growth.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to strengthen ongoing cooperation.
