Borama, Somaliland – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), today officially inaugurated a new, modern oxygen-generating plant at the Borama General Hospital. The new facility was established by the new administration to boost healthcare services in the city.
Furthermore, the President laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Psychiatry Hospital (Mental Health Hospital) dedicated to treating mental illnesses.
The President was accompanied at the ceremony by high-ranking officials from the government, including the Minister and the Director-General of the Ministry of Health Development, the Governor of the Awdal Region, the Mayor of Borama District, and staff working at the Borama General Hospital.
President Irro stated that this new oxygen-generating plant will significantly address the healthcare needs of the Awdal Region, particularly in saving the lives of patients in critical need of immediate oxygen and in reducing the high costs previously associated with importing it.
Similarly, the President emphasized that the construction of the Psychiatry (Mental Health) Hospital will become an important center serving the community of the Awdal region and Somaliland at large. This initiative is a key part of the government’s prioritized efforts to enhance and specialize public healthcare services.
