The President of the republic H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro has once again maintained that his administration will have zero tolerance for corruption.
The Head of State gave the caution as he launched on Saturday a workshop for the heads of the parastatals and associated government agencies.
The President made it clear that state pilfers, incompetence, misuse of funds and maladministration would not be entertained at all. The essence of the training is importance for the reform of national institutions, efficient cooperation between them and good governance.
President Abdirahman Irro underscored the strengthening of the culture of responsibility, urging the new heads of independent institutions to maintain accountability, transparency, efficiency and the public’s trust in the public administration through diligence.
This training, jointly convened by the Ministry of the Presidency, the Civil Service Commission, the Good Governance Commission and the University of Hargeisa, held at the main hall of the National Police Service, was one of the foundations for the work plan and efficient strategy to be followed by the new CEOs.
On the other hand, the Ministers of the Presidency Ministries, Hon. Khadar Hussein Abdi and the Minister of Information, Culture and National Guidance Hon. Ahmed Yasin Sheikh Ali Ayaanle, who addressed the function, emphasized the importance of the training for the good of the nation and the envisioned results that are expected to be achieved thereof.
They urged the officials who received this opportunity to make efforts to ensure that their work is reflected in the knowledge and results they gain from this training.
President Abdirahman Cirro said that the officials will be provided with knowledge on the benefits of efficient cooperation within the government and the necessary things for each institution and the planned issues it aims to achieve.
Later on, the President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi, visited the General Command Center of the Somaliland Police Force, hence was given briefs by the police chief Brig Gen Abdirahman Abdillahi Hassan (Abdi-deere).
In turn the President commended the force for their efforts and urged them to further endeavour for excellence as they go about their national duties in maintaining security and peaceful stability.
