Ministry of Education Honors Exemplary Students and School Leadership in Borama

The Ministry of Education and Science honored students and the administration of Ubaya Bin Ka’ab Secondary School in Borama for their outstanding conduct and leadership during a prestigious luncheon ceremony today. The event recognized students who excelled in the 2024/2025 academic year certificate examinations and demonstrated exemplary behavior by donating their school uniforms to underprivileged students.

Director General Abdirahman Hussein X. Hirsi, alongside Awdal Regional Chairman Hussein Ateye Gafane, presented certificates of appreciation to the students, commending their selfless act as a model for others. The initiative, where students collectively decided to support less fortunate peers, was hailed as a testament to their excellent upbringing and a beacon of hope for the nation’s youth.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Gafane emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to promoting students who inspire their communities, while Ms. Fadumo Gele, Head of the Secondary Schools Department, urged other students to follow Ubaya Bin Ka’ab’s example. Director General Hirsi praised the students’ actions as a reflection of values that the Ministry seeks to foster, pledging ongoing support for such initiatives.

The school’s administration also received certificates of honor, signed by Minister Prof. Ismail Ducale Yusuf, recognizing their role in nurturing principled students. The ceremony underscored Somaliland’s dedication to fostering a culture of excellence and compassion in education, with hopes that such acts will inspire future generations.
