President Convenes Key Meeting with Directors General to Boost Governance and Service Delivery

President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro of the Republic of Somaliland held a pivotal quarterly meeting today with the Directors General of the nation’s Ministries and Independent Agencies, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and public service delivery.

The meeting centered on reviewing the progress of critical tasks, staffing, service provision, and adherence to working hours. President Irro underscored the importance of each Ministry and Agency conducting thorough assessments of their achievements, pending tasks, planned objectives, and challenges requiring immediate attention.

In a call for stronger governance, the President urged the Directors General to foster greater cooperation and trust in their administrative roles. “Quality service delivery, administrative transparency, and accountability are non-negotiable,” he stated, emphasizing the need for alignment with Somaliland’s national development priorities.

Key remarks were delivered by prominent figures, including the Chairperson of the Directors General Council and Director General of the Ministry of Water Development Eng Gaas, alongside counterparts from the Ministry of the Presidency, Ministry of Aviation and Airport Development, Ministry of Agricultural Development, Good Governance Commission, and the Civil Service Agency.

The officials expressed gratitude for the President’s trust and leadership, pledging to advance the government’s vision of unity and action. They committed to prioritizing decentralized governance in regions and districts, improving community services, and fostering stronger ties between the government and Somaliland’s citizens to bolster public confidence.

President Irro concluded the meeting by urging the Directors General to uphold integrity in their duties, ensure fairness for their staff, and maintain strict adherence to working hours. He stressed the importance of delivering services tailored to citizens’ needs and maintaining financial accountability while working collectively toward the government’s overarching goals.
