The Republic of Somaliland warmly welcomed a senior U.S. delegation at Berbera International Airport, led by U.S. Ambassador to Somalia, Richard Riley, and Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Michael Langley. The delegation was received by Somaliland’s Minister of Civil Aviation and Airport Development, Fuad Ahmed Nuh, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between Somaliland and the United States.
Minister Nuh provided an in-depth briefing on the state-of-the-art facilities at Berbera International Airport, highlighting its modern infrastructure and capacity to handle large aircraft and diverse international flights. The airport, strategically located on the Gulf of Aden, is poised to serve as a key hub for regional trade and security operations.
Discussions during the visit centered on fostering cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, security, and defense.
