Republic of Somaliland President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to territorial unity and societal solidarity during an Eid al-Ahda address following prayers at the capital city of Hargeisa’s Grand Mosque.
Speaking to the large gathering of worshippers on Friday morning, he outlined his government’s focus on fostering peace and collective progress across Somaliland.
“Our policy is clear: unity of our land and the togetherness of our people. Peace and development require us to join hands together and work as one,” President Irro declared.
The President extended Eid greetings to Somaliland’s national forces and their families, acknowledging their role in maintaining stability.
Recent efforts to integrate thousands of former clan militias from the Sool, Sanaag, and Ayn regions, alongside approximately 500 technical armored vehicles, into national army structures are part of a broader push to consolidate peace.
The government has also called for the return of thousands of families displaced from Erigavo, following the restoration of security in the city and nearby areas. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to stabilize regions affected by past conflicts.
President Irro’s remarks underscore Somaliland’s drive toward unity and development, as the nation continues to navigate internal and regional challenges while pursuing international recognition.
