The Ministry of Energy and Minerals has successfully concluded a comprehensive staff audit across its headquarters and regional offices, marking a significant step toward enhancing human resource management and service delivery.
The initiative, which spanned recent weeks, aimed to verify the exact number of employees, assess their qualifications, and evaluate their working conditions. Launched at the ministry’s headquarters by Director General Dr. Shuayb Osman Mahmoud, the audit extended to key regions, including Awdal, Gebiley, Saahil, Sanaag, Saraar, and Togdheer, culminating in Burao, the capital of Togdheer.
A dedicated delegation, led by Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Samatar, Director of the Human Resources Department, and including Mr. Abdirahman Jama Ahmed, Director of the Legal Department, conducted thorough inspections of regional workplaces. The team gathered critical data to inform future improvements in staff training, workplace conditions, and human resource systems.
The ministry plans to leverage the audit’s findings to drive targeted training programs, enhance work environments, and strengthen management processes. This effort aligns with Somaliland’s broader vision for sustainable development through data-driven and efficient governance.
“This audit is a cornerstone of our commitment to building a robust and effective workforce,” said Dr. Shuayb Osman Mahmoud. “The insights gained will guide us in creating a more productive and supportive environment for our employees, ultimately benefiting the people of Somaliland.”
