During the meeting, the Election Commission shared a report on the Voter Registration System Audit Study, conducted by experts from KPMG, a globally renowned firm specializing in system audits. The study, presented to the Taskforce, outlined comprehensive data on the Somali Republic’s voter registry, identifying challenges in data, technology, technical aspects, and equipment, while offering key recommendations and solutions to enhance the system.
The Commission also submitted the General Plan for Voter Registration in the Somali Republic, which incorporates the experts’ recommendations and includes detailed, comprehensive procedures for implementing an advanced voter registration system aligned with the audit findings.
Chairman Muse Hassan Yusuf emphasized that the meeting aimed to inform the Taskforce about the Commission’s progress, voter registration preparations, and future plans. Both parties agreed to work together to prepare for the upcoming elections.
