The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, held an important meeting with the National Electoral Commission (NEC), and discussed the smooth running of the important tasks that the NEC has for the nation.
The President commended the NEC members for the manner in which they managed and enabled the holding of the simultaneous elections (Presidential and Political Parties) held in the country, on November 13, 2024.
He told them that they had shown diligence, dedication and additional responsibility, which the International Community greatly appreciated for the transparent elections that took place in our country.
On the other hand, the Head of State thanked the NEC for the technical and expert role they played in enabling the Biometric Registration of the whole personnel of the various units of the National Forces (NEC). He assured the NEC that the government is ready to work with it on any issues that abound thereof.
The National Electoral Commission, for its part, thanked the President for their meeting, and briefed them on the smooth running of their tasks. They said that they had conducted in-depth research related to the challenges that arose from the past elections, the lessons learned and the issues that need to be corrected, so that they do not happen again.
The meeting concluded with success and consensus and to work together on issues that are of priority to the Somaliland nation.
