The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi said that the nationalization of the civil forces in integrating and absorbing them into the mainstream national armed forces was officially complete.
The exercises that have come to a close this week, were conducted in the Sool, Sanaag and Buuhoodle regions.
The civil forces nationalization program, in which the Vice President, the chief of the defense forces and some members of the cabinet were charged with, was a culmination of efforts that took a whole couple of months.
Following the official close of the programme, the VP directed that no individual or groups of individuals would be seen armed with any battle-crafts or heavy amours whatsoever.
He ordered the security personnel to adhere to the orders to seize the weaponry and apprehend immediately any culprits flouting the directives.
The last lot to be integrated into the military at Qorilugud was a batch consisting of two thousand five hundred civilian soldiers and 72 vehicles from the area of Buhoodle district.
The conclusion of the nationalization of the forces is a great victory for the nation, and has addressed a precarious situation that would have been potentially explosive hence managed to bring to fold thousands of weaponry.
