Shield Law Firm has facilitated the wrapping up of the successful conclusion of a multi-million-dollar mining investment transaction involving Grand New Energy Somaliland, an international investment company with operations across more than nine countries, and Sugaal and Raad, locally established companies registered with the Government of Somaliland.
The transaction, which was negotiated over a period of nine months, represents a significant step toward advancing private-sector investment and responsible mining development in Somaliland.
The parties have entered into a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) establishing a framework for cooperation and investment in mining activities in Hargeisa District. The agreement provides a structured basis for the parties to combine their respective resources, expertise, local presence, and investment capabilities in pursuit of the project’s objectives.
The transaction was facilitated, drafted, negotiated, and legally led by Mr. Mubarik Abdi Ismail, Managing Partner of Shield Law Firm, who advised the parties throughout the negotiation and agreement process.
