First army commander begins census and registration of the National Army

The census and reorganization of the country’s armed forces have commenced at the General Command of the National Army in Hargeisa.

The 1^st Commander of the National Armed Forces Brig General Abdirisaq Saeed Bulaale led the start of the exercise over the week, along with the technical committee responsible for registering the various Somaliland armed forces.

They started the rigorous registration involving 500 hundred servicemen.

The registration system, utilizing Iris Recognition Biometrics technology to document the identification particulars of the soldiers, which would apply to all arms of the security services.
