During the interview with “Sky News Arabia”, President Abdirahman stressed that Somaliland has enjoyed stability for more than thirty years, as the country has not witnessed political unrest or internal conflicts, which made it a model of stability in the region.
He pointed out that his country seeks further development, benefiting from modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation, in addition to enhancing cooperation with Arab countries.
He explained that the Republic of Somaliland was a British colony until 1968, then voluntarily joined Somalia five days after its independence, but the civil war that broke out later prompted it to seek to regain its independence in 1991, and since then it has become a stable country enjoying democracy, free elections and a peaceful transfer of power.
Investment and Economic Development He also pointed out that his country is witnessing development in the technology and communications sector, as mobile phone and internet services have become among the cheapest in the world, which has helped promote the use of digital money transfers, which reflects Somaliland’s integration into the global technological revolution.
