The Minister of Information, Culture and National Guidance Hon. Ahmed-yasin Sheikh Ali (Ayaanle), has described the visit of the President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro and his delegation to the United Arab Emirates as a for the nation of the Republic of Somaliland.
The Head of State and, Somaliland in particular as the main essence, had the opportunity, for the first time ever, to speak to the world at one of the four top-most forums that annually brought together the highest number of Presidents, Premiers and Heads of State together in such a major assembly conference.
The Minister described the World Governments Summit 2025 held in Dubai as a great success for Somaliland, since it is the first time that a President of the Republic of Somaliland has had such an opportunity.
He expressed his profound gratitude to the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, for according the nation the justifiable opportunity that highlighted the fact that it was a country ought to be reckoned with.

He said, “The trip of the Somaliland president was historic, the conference was the one of the 4th largest conferences in the world that brought world governments leaders to an assembly”.
He continued, “It is the largest conference ever attended by a president of Somaliland, which is an opportunity for the communities of a nation that has been patient for a long time for the world to listen to their issues”.
He added, “It is by the grace of God that the Somaliland has become a key speaker in a conference event that brought together more than 140 countries, 80 international organizations and 30 heads of state on a platform beamed in live coverage to millions of viewers round the world”.
He pointed out that much was conveyed in the key-speech that realized and achieved what could have otherwise had efforts costing the nation a lot of time and millions of dollars to travel across the world, to and fro, to express the same sentiments.
The minister said that the conference attended by the president and his delegation was a blessing in disguise, as concerns international recognition, acknowledging the essence of Somaliland.
He said the keynote speech by the President H.E. Abdirahman Irro precisely conveyed in a nutshell the country’s impeccable history, its achievements, its basic rights to its aspirations, the port of Berbera, opportunities available in terms of abundant natural resources that need exploiting for the good of prosperity, its essence as a sovereign independent state with all the trappings of international constitutional statehood, the electioneering processes that saw six presidents change batons etc.
Minister Ahmed-yasin underscored the fact that “Somaliland was not invited as an organization, it was not invited as a region, but it was invited as a state, with our own President, as the head of the government of Somaliland sitting at the high table in the conference delivering a speech as a key-note speaker”.
He thanked the Emirati leaders by saying, “We are grateful to the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, the Prime Minister, and the Vice President, who have shown courage, confidence, and an undeniable truth that the world has been ignoring for a long time to present to the world and say that this country is not an indispensable one.”
