Army Chief Receives Resident Ethiopian Ambassador

The Chief of Somaliland Defense Forces Brigadier General Nem’aan Yusuf Osman (Gaahnuug), received the resident Ethiopian Ambassador to Somaliland, Ambassador Teshome Shunde at the army headquarters on Thursday.

The ambassador was accompanied by his embassy’s military attaché.

They both paid the newly appointed army chief a courtesy call.

The Army Chief and the Ethiopian Ambassador discussed ways and means to further strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was also orientating hence introductory to both officials.

Ethiopian military attachés in Somaliland were also present at the meeting.

It is to be recalled that during his address at the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), earlier this week, Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro) highlighted Somaliland’s commitment to regional cooperation, especially with with Ethiopia, with whom the President revealed of plans to finalize a crucial trade and transit agreement by the end of this year.
