The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro, and a high-level delegation he is leading today embarked on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
The Emirati government had formerly extended a formal invitation to the President.
This visit marks the first time the President of Somaliland will travel abroad since assuming office.
During the visit, the President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chief of Staff, the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, the Intelligence Chief, the President’s Senior Economic Advisor, the Head of the President’s Office, and other officials.
The First Lady of the Nation, Mrs. Farduus Mohamed Rooble, also accompanies the President on this trip.
The President and his delegation will be in the UAE for three days, engaging in various meetings with the leaders of the Emirati government to discuss issues of mutual importance to both nations and their peoples.
During his official visit to the UAE, the President will meet with the Somaliland community residing in the United Arab Emirates.
