President appoints more DGs, top officials

In an eventful week for government appointments, the Head of State H.E. Abdirahman Mohmed Abdillahi Irro has appointed more Directors General to various ministries and institutions.

He has named the following to the posts:-

  1. Muniir Ahmed Egal Farah, Director General of the Ministry of the Presidency of the Republic of Somaliland.
  2. Abdishakur Ismail Hussein Kahin, Director General of the Ministry of Labor, Social & Family Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland.
  3. Abdirizaq Ahmed Gaas Farah, Director General of the Ministry of Agricultural Development of the Republic of Somaliland
  4. Abdalla Mohamed Yusuf Abdi, Director General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of the Republic of Somaliland.
  5. Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama (Zaki), Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland.
  6. Abdirahman Hussein Haji Hirsi, Director General of the Ministry of Education, Training and Science of the Republic of Somaliland
  7. Ahmed Osman Jamac Farah, Director General of the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Development of the Republic of Somaliland.
  8. Said Muse Hosh Oofle (Rooble), Director General of the Civil Service Commission of the Republic of Somaliland.
  9. Aden Jama Duale Barre, Director General of the Higher Education Commission of the Republic of Somaliland.

The president also appointed Mr. Mohamed Sadiq Abdillahi Damme as the new Manager of the National Fuel Reserves.

He similarly appointed Masuud Abdi Ali Hassan to be the Representative of the Republic of Somaliland to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Dr Mohamed Omar Haji Mohamud as the Presidential Advisor on Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation.

Earlier on he named the following after initially naming a batch of another 10 DGs.

1.Eng Ahmed Muxummad Abdi Ige Director General of the Ministry of Transport and Road Development.

  1. Ahmed Arab Muse Bulaale- Director General of the Ministry of Communications and Technology.
  2. Abdi Ali Mohamed (Mahdi)- Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the Republic of Somaliland.
  3. Abdifatah Ismail Duale Jama- Director General of the Ministry of Investment and Industrial Development.
  4. Khadar Nur Abdi Buubaal- Director General of the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and Constitutional Affairs.
  5. Abdillaahi Mohamed Mohamed Mohamud (Jiid)- Director General of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Republic of Somaliland.
  6. Mohamed Abdi Hashi Absiiye -Director General of the Ministry of Justice.
  7. Abdirashid Abdi Jamac Buuh- Director General of the Ministry of Aviation, and Airport Development.
  8. Shuayb Osman Mohamud Mohamed. Director General of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
  9. Mahmoud Abdirisaq Abdi Mohamed Director General of the Ministry of Defense and Security.

All appointments take effect immediately.
