The Tax collection enforcement police unit in collaboration with the treasury has called operators of public vehicles to ensure that their road and driving licenses are in order and up to date.
The commander of the unit Colonel Suleiman Duale Warsame cautioned vehicle operators to desist from plying the roads without valid documents which are not in order.
He especially advised entities who contract and engage such unwarranted vehicle operators without valid papers to be wary of the repercussions when the erring ones are nabbed.
He pointed out that political parties, organizations and people who engage such vehicles are tantamount to cry foul when they perceive that nabbing of errant drivers and vehicles are undermining their schedules, and as such “they should only engage in vehicles operated lawfully only to avoid inconveniences”.
Similarly, the units Maroodijeeh regional commander Captain Abdirahman Baashe Mohamud noted that since that collection is an indispensible service in governance, he urged the populaces to pay their taxes duly and not default since it is end-year.
He precisely urged those who have not made their tax returns concerning land rents, income taxes, GST or any other associated pending taxes to do so promptly.
He warned all types of motor vehicles operators to have valid papers for both the drivers and their vehicles.
