Thursday August 10, 2023, Hargeisa Somaliland – On Wednesday August 9th , two vehicles owned by Halo Trust and one of its drivers were abducted by unknown assailants while traveling in the region of Daadmadheedh, fortunately no other individuals were involved, and the driver was released today unharmed.
The vehicles are still not accounted for, and the Republic of Somaliland Government security forces, along with the local police are investigating the incident. The government is committed to bringing those responsible to justice.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somaliland wants to reassure all citizens and foreign agencies that this was an isolated incident, on a road that is otherwise a safe route used by thousands of people on a daily basis.
