The Speaker of the Senate (GUURTI) of the Republic of Somaliland Hon. Suleiman Mohamud Aden said that nothing can be changed about the borders of Somaliland.
He at the same time called for a dialogue with the traditional leaders’ fraternity of the Sool region, and asked them for peaceful reconciliation and putting down arms.
The Speaker gave the sentiments as he addressed the 26th June Somaliland Independence Day commemoration at the Presidency over the week.
He called on the people of Somaliland to stand firm for their independence and avoid anything that could harm the nation; he specifically addressed the issue of Lasanood, and underscored the fact that there is a need for compliance with the ceasefire called for by the president.
