Hargeisa – The UCID party head has welcomed and supported the President’s position on the solution to the conflict in Laa Anod as concerns foreign invasion and peaceful dialogue.
The chairman Eng Faisal Ali Hussein, who happens to be the longest sitting chief of a political party in the country, has said that the conflict in Las Anod town can be ended with the withdrawal of armed militias from Puntland.
He said in a post on Twitter Wednesday that his Ucid party appreciates the call of the international community for re-charting the delayed election processes.
He noted that they also welcome the international community’s efforts to end the conflict in Las Anod.
Chairman Eng Faisal continued saying that the conflict can be resolved through dialogue and that the presence of the armed militia of Puntland in Las Anod is only exacerbating the situation to deteriorate even further hence called for them to vacate the country.
The party’s statement comes two days after the President H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi publicly stated the process of ending the conflict in Las Anod calls for the withdrawal of Puntland militia from the country, sentiments that have now been echoes by Eng. Feisal.
