Parliament backs pulling back of forces and traditional leaders’ efforts by giving dialogue a chance

The House of Representatives of Somaliland has backed the call for the pulling back of forces to create a conducive atmosphere for dialogue for the restoration of stability.

In Monday’s parliamentary session that was conducted in-camera, the legislative council also named a select committee task with the issue of Las Anod.

“First of all, the MPs send their deepest condolences to both the National Army and the people, who died in the bitter battles that took place in the city of Lasanood”, said the parliament in a report.

The assembly also supports the calls for peace by the traditional leaders, that a ceasefire be established, and supports the implementations of The ceasefire on both sides and also for the pulling back of forces from both sides such that a conducive atmosphere for restoration stability may be established.
